Rustic buildings in the Hunter Valley

Surrounded by historic buildings, stands this majestic Pepper tree.  The red geraniums, spilling out over the old trough add a touch of colour.

The original Ironbark slab hut on the property at Tyrrells Winery, which was erected in 1858, (see photos – above and below) is an interesting feature of the property.

Inside the hut, there are reminders of the historic past and amazing craftsmanship, shown in the fireplace bellows leaning against a wall.

Red Geranium

Red – almost orange – this bright Geranium puts on a spectacular show every year at the end of October.  Grown from a cutting, this Geranium is a reminder of a special birthday lunch with my sisters at Cafe Enzo in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales.
