Visiting this beautiful exhibition was a special treat. It’s amazing to think of the number of hours dedicated to the planting and maintenance for an exhibition of this size. Of course no visit to the Botanic Gardens is complete without a visit to the outdoor cafe near the pond and it was very restful sitting watching the waterbirds and their chicks – that is, until one of the chicks fell into a lower pond and was devoured by a very large waiting eel.
Pollination at the Calyx, is a living artwork – 6 metres high and 50 metres wide, with over 18,000 plants and flowers it features the key to pollination. Well worth a visit, the exhibition is set in a lovely glasshouse in the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens and is open until July 2018.
